Fifteen minutes of fame

Julie Kemp, one of our dental hygienists, has just completed her certification for the administration of local anesthesia.  This is the newest certification for dental hygienists available in the state of Virginia. All of Dr. Lindemann’s hygienists attend continuing education courses that are offered by the local component level of the American Dental Hygienist’s Association. Several continually go above and beyond the requirements for licensure and attend additional Virginia State level meetings. The ADHA’s Center for Lifelong Learning meeting was held in Phoenix this year and was attended by our hygienist Jennifer Zimmerman. She took continuing education courses on the lateset techniques in hand and ultrasonic instrumentation, an update of new products available for oral care and the treatment of periodontal disease, an update on the autoimmune mechanisms of periodontal disease, and a review of evidenced based clinical trials for mouth rinses. Their next scheduled continuing education courses  are Osha: 10 Crucial Steps to Patient and Personal Safety, and Sleep Apnea. It is very important to all the hygienists in this office to provide the most comprehensive and up to date care for thier patients.
